HOW DO I REGISTER MY CHILD?

WHAT IS THE LINK BETWEEN RÉGENT CAMPS AND LE ROSEY CAMPS?
Since 2019 Le Rosey and Le Rosey Camps entered into partnership with Le Régent, bringing 140 years of education experience to assist with the school’s new direction and identity. During the summer, experienced Rosey Camps directors run two programmes in Crans-Montana in collaboration with Le Régent staff to ensure that Régent Camps reflect the school’s values and spirit, while benefitting from Le Rosey Camps’ experience in organising exceptional summer programmes.
DO YOU OFFER DAY CAMPS OR ONLY BOARDING CAMPS?
Régent Camps offer full boarding and day camps. The Pre-University camp is only offered as boarding camp.
CAN MY CHILD CHOOSE A LANGUAGE LAB IF THEY ARE A NATIVE SPEAKER?
Our language lessons are suitable for students who are learning a new language. Therefore, we suggest they apply for a language they are not native in.
WILL I GET FEEDBACK FROM MY CHILD'S TEACHERS?
At the end of the camp, all students receive a short written feedback on their progress.
WILL SOMEONE BE AT THE AIRPORT TO WELCOME MY CHILD?
Régent Camps offer free airport transfer from Geneva airport on the arrival and departure days of the camp during certain hours. The last shuttle leaves Geneva airport at 15:00. Outside of the airport shuttle hours, we are happy to help you organise a taxi transfer to our campus. Children travelling alone will be escorted by one of our staff. We do not organise airport transfer from Zürich or Milan airport. Our campus in Crans-Montana is 2h30 from Geneva airport.
CAN SOMEONE RESERVE OR CHANGE MY CHILD’S PLANE TICKETS?
Régent Camps are not able to book or change any plane tickets.
WILL SOMEONE TAKE MY CHILD TO THE AIRPORT TO RETURN HOME?
Just as on arrival day, Régent Camps offer free transportation to Geneva airport during certain hours. Unaccompanied minors (UM) will be escorted all the way to the gate by a member of staff until the plane takes off. Please be aware that it is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to apply and pay for this service with the airline in advance. We also recommend that you check your airline policy for children traveling alone as some forbid it.
IS THERE ACCOMMODATION FOR PARENTS?
Régent Camps are proud to be working together with some of the best hotels in Crans-Montana to offer the families of our campers preferential rates on rooms. Please get in touch for more information.
HOW DOES THE BOARDING HOUSE WORK?
All students live together in a boarding house – girls and boys in separate buildings, Juniors and Seniors on separate floors. The teachers live on the same floor as the students to ensure their well-being, safety and a family atmosphere. All teachers and students eat together on set times. This is how we create a feeling of community and security.
WHAT KIND OF FOOD IS THERE AT THE CAMP?
We work together with Novae to ensure a varied, international and healthy diet for our campers. We cater for most dietary restrictions.
WHAT ARE THE ROOMS LIKE?
The boarding rooms of Le Regent are modern and spacious with two beds in each room. Bathrooms are either private or shared between two rooms. All students have their own desk with a desk light, a shelf and wardrobe. All bed clothes and towels are provided.
CAN WE MAKE A ROOMMATE REQUEST?
Room requests can be made when registering for the camp and we will try our best to make it happen. Students stay in cosy and luxurious bedrooms with en-suite bathroom and share with that they share with three fellow campers.
CAN I VISIT THE CAMP?
We do not allow visits during the camp. This is to help the students gain autonomy and independence.
CAN MY CHILD USE A MOBILE PHONE?
Phones need to be kept in the rooms. Students are allowed to use them at certain times during the day. We prefer to promote social interaction with their fellow campers.
Time differences when calling home to family is taken into consideration.
Before lights out, New Heights students will hand in their phones and electronic devices.
WHAT IS THE MAIN LANGUAGE USED AT THE CAMP?
English is used throughout the day.
WHAT KIND OF MEDICAL INSURANCE DOES MY CHILD NEED?
The fee includes an insurance of emergency expenses in case of accident and illness.
This is a travel insurance and assistance solution providing cover in the event of a medical emergency resulting from illness or accident. If the child’s health/accident insurance in his/her country of residence does not cover the costs abroad or if the child does not
have health/accident insurance, our insurance is activated to cover the costs in Switzerland during the camp. In all cases, our company will contact the child’s health insurance, if it exists.
WHAT DO I DO IF MY CHILD HAS HEALTH ISSUES?
We collect important health data when you register your child for the camp. It’s important that the health form is filled out completely so that we can make sure we do our best for the safety and wellbeing of your child. We have an in-house nurse and a health center.
DO YOU CELEBRATE BIRTHDAYS DURING THE CAMP?
Of course! Birthdays are important, and possibly even more when you are away from home.
WHAT CLOTHES DOES MY CHILD NEED TO BRING?
When your child has been accepted to the camp, we will send you a list of things to pack.
DO CHILDREN DO THEIR OWN LAUNDRY?
We offer a laundry service to all our campers. When they arrive, we bring their clothes to be labelled. Dry cleaning is not offered.
HOW IS POCKET MONEY GIVEN TO MY CHILD?
Pocket money is distributed by the camp directors twice a week.
CAN MY CHILD JOIN THE CAMP FOR ONE WEEK?
For pedagogical and social reasons, when you register your child for day camp, as well as boarding camp, it is for the full duration of the camp (two weeks)
WHAT CAMERA SHOULD MY CHILD BRING TO THE MEDIA MAKING PASSION ACADEMY?
Students participating in the Media Making Passion programme are encouraged to bring a DSLR camera if they have one. If they do not own one, we will provide them with one of our Canon DSLRS. Compact cameras are not recommended.
ARE THERE ANIMALS ON CAMPUS?
As part of our nature education program, students are in contact with dogs and farm animals. Please inform us if your children has pet allergies so we can adapt accordingly.
DO WE PREPARE OUR STUDENTS TO DIGITAL SAT?
Our camp will fully prepare students for both the digital SAT and the paper SAT.
Our instructors and our curriculum/training partner have deep experience (20+ years) in computer-based tests such as the GRE, GMAT etc.
